Originally Stonersville Fabricators, Amity Industries co-founder Ned Selwyn Sr. was always driven to produce the highest quality products possible. Working at Piersol Pine in Oaks, PA, in the late 50s and through the 60s, Ned built flow meters early in his career and helped to contribute to Piersol’s reputation for high-quality fabrication. After establishing Stonersville Fabricators in 1973, the business evolved and operated as Amity Industries. Acquiring Alburtis Machine in 1988, Amity Machine was created. J&J Machine was acquired in 1993. It was integrated into the Amity family and developed into the worldwide leader known as Amity Fire & Safety to support the fire industry. In 2008 Amity Industries was renamed Amity Fabricators to better represent their line of business. After Amity Fabricators was formally established, Amity Flow became the fourth unit to market the new Venturi Flow Meter designs developed by R.W. Miller and the Amity team. With many former Piersol Pine employees, Amity was able to quickly establish a reputation for consistent high-quality products.

“Ned tells us the truth, expects us to tell him the truth, and he does what he promises.”

- A key client described Ned in a 1993 letter

Today, Ned Selwyn Jr. continues that tradition, continually expanding the company by investing in new technologies and adding new capabilities. Having bought the company in 2004, Ned Jr. stepped into the role of President, and his father remained Chairman through 2006. Ned’s focus was and is on his management team, pulling everyone together and leveraging their tremendous talent and expertise. The company is now streamlined and incredibly diversified. Ned’s interest in technology allowed him to put systems in place to maximize efficiencies which enable Amity to be a very lean operation. Still 100% produced in the U.S.A., Amity can compete anywhere in the world.
